This article is the result of a classroom action research
(CAR) using the Jigsaw method as an effort to improve
learning achievement of Islamic Religious Education
subjects on the history of science growth during Abbasid
Dynasty of VIII-A class students of SMPN 2 Deket
Lamongan in academic year 2019/2020. This research
was conducted in three cycles. Each cycle includes planning,
implementing, observing, reflecting and evaluation. The
research results showa that there is improvement of learning
outcomes, such as in the first cycle the class average score
is 74, in the second cycle is 77.54 and in the third cycle
the average score is 79.5. This shows that Jigsaw is able
to improve student learning achievement of PAI subject
matter especially in undertanding the history of science
growth during Abbasid Dynasty
