PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF MODEL THINK PAIR AND SHARE PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS IX DI SMPN 2 LAREN LAMONGAN

This study is a classroom action research result (CAR) using cooperative method of think pair and share (TPS) models. The research problems are, (1) how students’ motivation learning after using TPS cooperative models, (2) how is the students’ learning progress during the implementation of cooperative learning TPS models, (3) how is the student learning outcomes during the
implementation of cooperative learning TPS models. This study is descriptive-quantitative approach with three cycles, each cycle consists of four stages, and they are planning, implementing, reflecting and revision. In collecting the data, the researcher used such instruments as observation, documentation and test. The data then analysed used a descriptive approach by determining scores. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Laren, class of IX in academic year of 2018/2019. The results showed that students’ learning motivation is increased, from first observation with score was 2.19 (low) up to the third cycle is 4.19 (high score).
The mastery of learning outcomes in the first post-test was only 61.11% and in the third post-test it was 86.11%. Student learning progress also increased, from students who did not understand the material taught at the first observation was about 39.13% and decrease in the third cycle to 17.39%. This shows that PAI learning by implementing cooperative learning of TPS model can increase learning motivation of class IX students at SMPN 2 Laren
