PENINGKATAN MINAT, AKTIVITAS DAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM (PAI) SISWA KELAS VIII A SMPN 2 GRESIK MELALUI MEDIA AUDIO VISUAL (VIDEO) PADA MATERI IMAN KEPADA RASUL ALLAH

Abstract

Students’ interest in learning PAI is minimal, the reason is the teachers mostly do not involve the students’ activities in learning; resulted PAI learning achievement is not optimal. The research problems in this classroom action research are (1) how are students’ interest in the use of audio-visual media (video) on the subject of faith in Allah’s Prophet? (2) how are the students’ activities towards the use of audio-visual media (video) on the material of faith in Allah’s Prophet? (3) does audio visual media (video) can improve student achievement? The research consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflect- ing. Each cycle consisted of three meetings and the third meeting used formative tests. The research subjects were 32 students of class VIII A in academic year of 2018/2019 even semester. The instruments used were observation sheets, tests and questionnaires. The data then analyzed with qualitative descriptions and percentages. The results showed that audio visual media could increase students’ interest in learning material of faith in Allah’s Prophet from 49,00% in cycle I
and 78,13% in cycle II. Student learning activities on this material have increased from 46,24% in cycle I and 76,74% in cycle II. Besides, the student learning achievement on the subject of faith in Allah’s Prophet was also increased.
