Abstract

This article aims to discuss the concept of trustworthiness in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Ma'arij verse 32, and its relevance to the values and ethics of modern life. This research is classified as library research, with data collected from academic literature. In analyzing the data, a historical approach was used. The results of this study state that in the context of this verse, the nature of trust refers to the responsibility and trust given to a person, whether in the form of tasks, obligations, or promises. This verse emphasizes the importance of keeping trust and fulfilling promises as part of the character of a true believer. There are many examples of amanah in everyday life, such as amanah fitrah, amanah ibadah, amanah dakwah and jihad, amanah harta, amanah menjaga keselamatan dan kehormatan orang lain, amanah dalam menjaga rahasia, amanah kekuasaan, amanah ilmu pengetahuan, amanah terhadap diri sendiri, and amanah keluarga. Trust requires confidence, and confidence gives birth to inner peace, which in turn gives birth to conviction. Trust is not merely something material, but also non-material, and all of it is commanded by Allah to be fulfilled properly. There is trust between humans and Allah, between humans and other humans, between humans and their environment, and between humans and themselves. Each has its own details, and every detail must be fulfilled.
